Xi Jinping calls for eradicating corruption in China’s army
Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the need to eliminate corrupt elements within China’s armed forces and to prevent disloyalty to the Communist Party among its ranks. He made this statement addressing delegates of the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police during the annual parliamentary session.
Xi emphasized that servicemen holding weapons must not allow individuals with dual loyalty into their ranks and must not provide cover for corrupt elements. He also noted that since 2012, the party has enforced corrective measures in the armed forces with unprecedented determination and intensity, achieving significant results.
This stance signals a continued tightening of military oversight and the persistence of anti-corruption efforts within China’s key power structures.
