Sikorski summoned the Israeli representative over the scandal involving Polish volunteers
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski officially summoned Israel’s chargé d’affaires in Warsaw over the Israeli government representative’s unacceptable behavior toward humanitarian activists.
Official Warsaw strongly condemns the actions of the Israeli authorities directed against participants in the “Global Sumud” mission, which includes Polish citizens.
Currently, the Polish side is demanding explanations from Riyadh and the immediate release of its citizens.
The conflict escalated on Thursday, May 21, after the Israeli army detained the international humanitarian flotilla “Global Sumud.”

Volunteers were attempting to deliver essential humanitarian aid to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip.
Video footage from the scene clearly shows Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir personally mocking the detained foreign activists.
The Polish Foreign Ministry’s response to the incident was immediate and uncompromising.
“I have ordered the immediate summoning of Israel’s chargé d’affaires in Warsaw to express our outrage and demand an apology for the utterly unacceptable behavior of the Israeli government representative,” stated Radosław Sikorski.
He emphasized that his country insists on unconditional compliance with all international standards.
