Against the backdrop of fuel shortages in Russia, Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan mentioned the rationing system and urged citizens to be prepared for the situation to worsen further. Her statement came amid the gasoline crisis in Russia. In effect, Simonyan urged Russians to resign themselves to possible new hardships and restrictions in the country.
Simonyan claimed that the West is allegedly trying to destabilize the situation within Russia by disrupting the tourist season and creating problems with air travel and fuel supplies.
At the same time, the propagandist effectively urged Russians to resign themselves to a possible worsening of the situation. According to her, the lack of gasoline is no reason to panic, since her generation remembers the days when food was distributed by ration cards.
“Let’s remember, after all, what hardships we’ve been through together. No gasoline? I still remember—my generation remembers—how food was distributed by ration cards. In my hometown of Krasnodar in 1992, we had coupons; we’d cut them out and go use them. We got through it then—we’ll get through it now,” Simonyan recalled.
She also claims that Russian society is supposedly “impossible to intimidate” because it has allegedly grown stronger over the past century.
She said this in an interview with Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.
Armenian authorities called Russian propagandist Simonyan a “fantastic creature.”
