Syrian army takes control of Tabqa city and Euphrates Dam
The Syrian army says it has taken full control of the city of Tabqa, located about 55 kilometres west of Raqqa, marking one of its most significant advances in recent weeks.
The military also claims it has seized the Euphrates Dam, a strategically vital facility that plays a crucial role in electricity generation and water supply across the region.
The capture of Tabqa and the dam strengthens Damascus’s position in northern Syria and brings government forces closer to Raqqa, which had previously been under the control of Kurdish-led forces.
