The U.S. May Approve the Sale of Aircraft Engines to Turkey for Kaan Fighter Jets — Reuters
The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump plans to approve a deal in the near future to sell Turkey dozens of General Electric jet engines with a total value of about $700 million.
These engines are intended for Turkey’s fifth-generation Kaan fighter jet, which Ankara is developing as part of a program to strengthen its defense industry.
According to the agency, the decision could be made before the NATO summit, which will take place in Turkey on July 7–8. After that, the U.S. State Department is expected to officially notify Congress of the deal.
The sale of the engines is seen as an important step toward improving relations between Washington and Ankara, which have remained strained in recent years due to Turkey’s purchase of Russian S-400 air defense systems and the country’s exclusion from the F-35 fighter jet program.

Turkey deployed the Bayraktar TB3 maritime drone, equipped with electronic warfare systems for reconnaissance and electronic countermeasures, for the first time. The drone took off from the TCG Anadolu and operated with modules capable of detecting and jamming radars. This is viewed as a new stage in the development of maritime unmanned technologies.
