The U.S. has asked that the Polish defense minister's visit to the Pentagon be canceled
The visit to the Pentagon by Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, scheduled for Wednesday, will not take place. This is due to an urgent request from the U.S. side.
Kosiniak-Kamysz had previously announced that he intended to discuss with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagsett, in particular, the issue of a permanent U.S. military presence in Poland. Discussions were also expected to cover the deployment of a PAC-3 missile service center in Poland.
However, as RMF FM has learned, Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysz’s visit to the Pentagon, scheduled for Wednesday, will not take place. It will be rescheduled for a later date.
Following the release of this information, the Ministry of National Defense issued a statement announcing that, due to an urgent request from the U.S. side, the visit will be rescheduled.
“The date is currently being coordinated. In light of signals from the U.S. side, as well as following the meeting of NATO Chiefs of Staff, it is now necessary to urgently take new measures regarding the security of Alliance countries. Deputy Ministers Magdalena Sobkowiak-Charnecka and Paweł Zalewski are traveling to Washington. They will hold talks with U.S. partners and prepare new agreements regarding our cooperation,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
