The U.S. withdrew its F-22 fighter jets from Israel following an escalation with Iran
The United States has begun withdrawing its most advanced F-22 Raptor fighter jets from Israel. Despite ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran, the American fighter jets left the Israeli Ovda Air Base and headed for Europe.
At least 10 F-22 stealth fighters took off Friday morning from the airbase in southern Israel and headed for Fairford Air Base in the United Kingdom. The planes are then scheduled to return to the United States.
The F-22 Raptor is operated exclusively by the U.S. Air Force and is considered one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world. They are designed to ensure air superiority through a combination of high speed, maneuverability, and stealth technology.
It is noted that the American fighter jets were deployed to Israel on the eve of the recent military confrontation between Israel and Iran, strengthening the U.S. military presence in the region.
