The U.S. Recognizes Its Partnership with Ukraine — Macron's Statement

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that, for the first time, the United States has agreed to a document in which its role in the war against Ukraine is defined not as that of a neutral mediator, but as a partner of Kyiv. According to him, this marks a new level of coordinated action between the U.S., Ukraine, and European allies.

For the first time, the United States has approved a text in which its role in the war against Ukraine is defined not as that of a neutral mediator, but as a party acting alongside its allies in support of Kyiv. French President Emmanuel Macron made this statement during a briefing while commenting on the new coordinated international wording.

According to Macron, this refers to a document that reflects a shift in Washington’s approach and its alignment with the position of European partners on key issues related to the war. “Regarding Ukraine, the United States has, for the first time, approved a text stating that it is no longer a neutral mediator, but stands with us in supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity, providing military aid, energy support, and sanctions against Russia,” the French president stated.

Macron emphasized that the new position encompasses several areas of support—from military aid to sanctions policy and energy cooperation—and effectively solidifies a common course of action between the U.S. and European nations.

According to him, this wording officially marks the first departure from the role of “mediator” in the classical sense and confirms the U.S.’s participation in a broader system of support for Ukraine alongside its allies. This is evident from a statement by French President Emmanuel Macron during a briefing.

French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the escalation in relations between Donald Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, calling the situation unexpected.
