The United States has lost two more MQ-9 Reaper drones over central Iran, near Isfahan.
CBS News reports this.
The total number of drones of this type shot down since the start of the U.S. and Israeli war against Iran has risen to 16.
Iran claims that the drones were intercepted and destroyed by its air defense forces.
MQ-9 Reapers are used for reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision strikes.
At the same time, these drones are vulnerable to modern air defense systems, as they were designed for operations in areas with low levels of air defense.
Their maximum speed is about 480 km/h, which is significantly lower than that of fighter jets.
The cost of a single such drone exceeds $30 million.
As a reminder, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and is threatening a “harsh response” to ships.
The Strait of Hormuz could also become the “Trump Strait.”
