The U.S. has stated that it is prepared to launch new strikes against Iran

Pentagon Chief Pete Hagset stated that the United States is prepared to resume military strikes against Iran if diplomatic efforts do not lead to a new agreement. According to him, Washington maintains sufficient military resources and does not rule out a military scenario should negotiations fail. This was reported by Reuters.

The U.S. has publicly signaled that it reserves the option of a military scenario regarding Iran if diplomatic talks fail, and did so in rather strong terms, emphasizing its readiness for a rapid response and the availability of sufficient resources in the region and around the world.

As Pentagon chief Pete Hagset stated, “we are capable of resuming strikes if necessary; we are fully prepared for this,” adding that the United States has sufficient forces and reserves to maintain a high level of military readiness at any time. He also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly seeking, first and foremost, a diplomatic solution and a “favorable deal” that would guarantee Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons; however, Washington does not rule out the use of force if negotiations reach an impasse.

According to the U.S. side, various scenarios are currently being considered, including extending the ceasefire for another 60 days to give diplomats a chance to try to reach a final resolution to the conflict, which is already affecting global markets and the energy sector.

Washington also notes that any escalation involving Iran has international consequences, particularly for oil prices and the stability of energy supplies, making the situation not only a military but also an economic problem on a global scale.

Earlier, Iran and the U.S. exchangedaccusations following new strikes.

The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress in negotiations with Tehran, noting that as part of a potential agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.

Iran’s Supreme Leader has bannedthe transfer of enriched uranium.
