Wildberries announced compensation for destroyed goods following an attack on its warehouses

Wildberries stated that it is considering compensation for sellers whose goods were damaged or destroyed following drone strikes on its warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the company noted that it is not formally obligated to compensate for lost goods.

The Russian marketplace Wildberries has begun addressing the issue of compensation for sellers who lost goods due to drone strikes on the company’s warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions. According to the company, it also plans to provide financial assistance to the families of those killed and to injured employees.

The families of those killed are to receive 2 million rubles each, and those in critical condition will receive 1 million rubles each. Separately, Wildberries commented on the situation regarding sellers’ goods that were stored in the warehouses during the attack. “All of our partners are also concerned about compensation for goods that were stored at our facilities. Despite the emergency situation and the fact that we are under no obligation to compensate for lost goods, we are already working out the amounts of payments to sellers and other financial support measures,” said Tatyana Kim.

She added that the company will later inform sellers about the procedure for receiving potential payments. “We will definitely provide detailed information on the seller portal regarding these payments, support measures, and the procedure for receiving them,” said the head of Wildberries.

What Is Known About the Attack

Earlier reports indicated that drones had struck Wildberries facilities in the Moscow and Tambov regions of Russia. Following the attack, the company reported damage to its infrastructure and the impact on its employees and partners.

At this time, Wildberries has not disclosed the final amount of potential compensation for sellers. The company merely noted that the issue of payments is still under review. This was stated by Wildberries CEO Tatyana Kim.

It is reported that, according to preliminary estimates, the losses following the fire at the Wildberries warehouse could exceed 100 billion rubles ($1.3 billion).
