The U.S. carried out strikes on Iranian radar stations and command posts

The U.S. military struck Iranian radar sites and drone command centers in response to the downing of one of its drones. The strikes took place on Saturday and Sunday, despite the ongoing ceasefire.

This was reported by CENTCOM.

The U.S. Central Command reported that it struck targets in Goruk and on Qeshm Island in Iran, destroying radars and drone command centers. The strikes were in response to Iran’s downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone operating over international waters.

In response, U.S. fighter jets destroyed:

  • Iranian air defense systems;
  • a ground control station;
  • two kamikaze drones that posed a threat to ships in the region.

No American service members were injured.

The command described the strikes as “measured and targeted” and emphasized that they were a response to unjustified Iranian aggression” during the current ceasefire. The command stated that it would continue to defend U.S. assets and interests in the region.
