Starlink has officially launched in Kyrgyzstan
Starlink satellite internet is now officially available in Kyrgyzstan.
This was announced by SpaceX.
As of May 23, Kyrgyzstan appeared on the service’s official website with the status “available.” The company also announced on social media platform X that Starlink high-speed satellite internet is now available in the country.
The local telecommunications operator Elkat has become Starlink’s infrastructure partner in Kyrgyzstan. The company noted that users will receive local IP addresses, and internet traffic will come directly from the satellites.
In April, the Kyrgyz government announced that it had received all necessary permits to launch a pilot project. The company met the regulators’ requirements and signed the relevant agreements with government agencies.
Kyrgyzstan became the third country in Central Asia where Starlink began operations. The service had previously become available in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
