British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was booed by protesters during his visit to the Golders Green neighborhood in London.
The area is home to a large Jewish community and has recently been the subject of reports of attacks on Jewish sites. During the visit, the prime minister faced a protest from some of those present.
On Thursday, April 30, Starmer was met by groups of protesters during his visit to Golders Green following a knife attack that occurred the previous day.
Some of those present held signs reading "Keir Starmer – Oppressor of Jews." Chants with similar messages were also heard.
Upon the prime minister’s arrival, he was also met with shouts of “Shame on you.”
Starmer convened an emergency cabinet meeting in response to the attack in London.
In the Holder Green neighborhood of London, an unknown assailant carried out a knife attack, resulting in two people being injured.
Another murder of a Ukrainian citizen who had moved to the U.S. due to the war has occurred. On February 14, 21-year-old Kateryna Tovmash was shot and killed in North Carolina. The young woman had moved to the U.S. after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, seeking safety and refuge. Law enforcement is currently investigating the circumstances of the crime.
