Stubb supported Ukraine's long-range strikes against Russia
Finnish President Alexander Stubb considers Ukraine’s long-range strikes on Russian territory to be a justified military strategy. According to him, such attacks raise the cost of the war for Russia and put additional pressure on the Russian side.
Stubb was asked to comment on Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russian oil refineries and, more recently, against warehouses belonging to Russian e-commerce companies.
In response, the Finnish president stated that to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, the allies need to “provide Ukraine with military and financial support and build up its capabilities to strike deep into enemy territory—whether with missiles or drones”.
“The reason is very simple: it raises the cost and price of the war for Russia. And we can already see this, particularly in the fact that 65% of the Russian population wants this war to end. And strikes on logistics centers, such as Wildberries, increase that figure by another 10%. So if your question is whether I consider this a sound military strategy for Ukraine, my answer is yes, absolutely," Stubb emphasized.
In his view, this is precisely what will help bring the parties to the negotiating table.
He made this statement after a meeting of the “coalition of the willing,” which took place on Monday, August 24, in Kyiv, according to a correspondent for “European Truth.”
Stubb announced two aid packages for Ukraine.

Ukraine and Finland have agreed on the joint production of weapons and military equipment for both our own needs and those of our European partners.
Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that the course of the war has been shifting in Ukraine’s favor for some time now, and that new Western sanctions are expected to reinforce this trend.
