Court Awards Kim Kardashian 1 Euro in Compensation for a Robbery in Paris — CNN
A Paris court awarded American celebrity Kim Kardashian 1 euro in compensation for an armed robbery that took place in 2016. According to her lawyers, this was precisely the symbolic amount she had requested.
Kardashian has been trying to put this incident behind her ever since a court found eight people guilty last year. She and her stylist, Simone Harush, expressed their gratitude to the French justice system.
“This experience was deeply traumatic, and its effects have stayed with us. Today’s decision is not about compensation, but about accountability and acknowledging the crime. We are grateful to the court and to everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal,” reads a joint statement.
On October 2, 2016, during Paris Fashion Week, two robbers dressed in police uniforms broke into Kardashian’s hotel room, tied her up, and stole jewelry worth over $6 million.

The criminal gang was nicknamed the “grandpa robbers” because six of them were between 60 and 70 years old.
Since they had already served part of their sentences while in pretrial detention, none of them returned to prison. None of the convicted individuals appealed the verdict.
In addition to Kardashian and her stylist, who each sought 1 euro in compensation, other victims also received compensation. Specifically, the court ordered the Hôtel de Pourtalès to pay 50,000 euros, and its former manager to pay 109,516 euros.
