Islamabad court postpones decision on PTI protest on September 27
The Islamabad High Court in Pakistan has postponed issuing a decision on a petition against the PTI party’s protest planned for September 27 in the federal capital. The petition was filed by citizen Waqas Ahmed, who challenged the holding of the rally.
Petition against the protest
The petitioner stated that the protest could disrupt the usual rhythm of life in Islamabad, complicate traffic and affect business activity. The case is being heard by an expanded bench chaired by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar. It also includes justices Muhammad Azam Khan and Muhammad Asif.
As Dawn reports, the bench postponed its decision after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief assured the court that no illegal or unconstitutional activity would be allowed during the protest.

Purpose of the PTI rally
PTI has announced a nationwide protest, including in Islamabad, for September 27. The party stated that the rally aims to demand the release of its founder, Imran Khan, and mobilize people in support of the supremacy of the Constitution.
At the beginning of the hearing, Islamabad Advocate General Naveed Hayat Malik informed the court that an application had been filed requesting permission to show video recordings of PTI protests from 2022 and 2024.
