Gas and oil tankers have broken through the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz — Reuters

Due to the war between the U.S. and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28, shipping through the strategic Strait of Hormuz has dropped sharply

This is reported by Reuters.

Despite the critical situation and constant danger, several tankers carrying liquefied natural gas and oil have managed to leave the Persian Gulf in recent days.

They successfully navigated the dangerous stretch and continued on their planned route to Asian countries.

According to shipping monitoring data from LSEG and Kpler, two LNG tankers—the Fuwairit and the Al Rayyan—are passing through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

The first vessel flies the flag of the Bahamas and loaded liquefied natural gas at the Qatari port of Ras Laffan around March 28.

The Fuwairit is heading to Pakistan and is scheduled to unload its cargo on Tuesday; it is owned by the well-known Japanese company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

Another large LNG tanker, the Al Rayyan, has also safely left the Strait of Hormuz.

This vessel is transporting a similar energy cargo, which was loaded on board at the Qatari port of Ras Laffan.

It was last seen in the Persian Gulf on May 22 and is currently outside the strait between Iran and Oman. According to information from monitoring platforms, the Al Rayyan is scheduled to deliver its cargo to China on June 27.

Meanwhile, the supertanker Eagle Verona, which is transporting Iraqi oil to China, left the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. This occurred after nearly three months of forced idling in the blocked Persian Gulf.

The Singapore-flagged vessel was chartered by Unipec, the trading arm of China’s Sinopec.

According to analysts, the tanker loaded nearly 2 million barrels of Basrah crude oil around February 26, and its arrival at the Chinese port of Ningbo is expected on June 12.

Reuters, citing two sources, previously reported that the Eagle Verona was one of seven vessels for which Malaysia had asked Iran to grant permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Five of these vessels have already left the strait, while two remain in the Persian Gulf. A safe passage became possible only after lengthy diplomatic negotiations between the parties involved.

The truce did not unblock the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz
