Dancer Poco Lee appears with Burna Boy in the UK ahead of court hearing
Nigerian dancer and hype man Iwe Odinaka, known as Poco Lee, appeared in a video alongside Afrobeats performer Burna Boy following reports of his release from custody in the United Kingdom. The video was published on Saturday by activist and content creator Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, Premium Times Nigeria reports.
Otse called the recording Poco Lee’s first video after his alleged release. The video is public evidence that the dancer is likely no longer in custody, although UK authorities have not clarified the circumstances or conditions of his release.
The case has not been closed
The UK Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that the criminal case against Odinaka remains active. He is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Some people acquainted with the dancer claimed that the complainant had allegedly withdrawn from the case and that Burna Boy and Rahman Jago helped secure Poco Lee’s release. The Crown Prosecution Service did not confirm that the complainant had withdrawn from the case and did not clarify the conditions of the alleged release. Neither Burna Boy nor UK authorities confirmed claims about his role in the release.
Five charges
According to the publication, Odinaka faces five charges related to sexual offences: one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration. The alleged offences reportedly occurred on July 23, 2026, in the Tower Hamlets area of east London.
On August 18, Odinaka first appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court, after which the case was transferred to Snaresbrook Crown Court. The court imposed reporting restrictions to protect the identity of the complainant. Poco Lee has not been found guilty, and the charges are to be considered by the court.
