Tibon Says Bennett Can Fix Israel After the Chaos of October 7
In Israel, retired Major General Noam Tibon, who is running for the Knesset on the electoral list of the B'Yachad alliance, said that former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is capable of “fixing Israel after the chaos of October 7.” Tibon made the statement during the presentation of the B'Yachad list in Tel Aviv, The Jerusalem Post reports.
Tibon was placed sixth on Bennett's list. According to polling data cited by the publication, B'Yachad could win around 15 seats in the next Knesset. The alliance was formed by Bennett and the centrist Yesh Atid party led by opposition leader Yair Lapid. It is part of an opposition bloc seeking to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the October elections.
Assessment of Bennett
Tibon said the alliance had assembled the “best team” of specialists and that Bennett has experience in governing the state. The retired general called Bennett an “excellent prime minister,” while acknowledging that he had made mistakes. In Tibon's view, the former head of government has drawn conclusions from them.

According to Tibon, the alliance has a plan covering various areas. Among its priorities, he named restoring security for residents in the north and south of the country and introducing a new Israeli security doctrine.
Security and military service
Tibon stated the need to win the war against Hamas and Hezbollah and disarm them. In his view, Israel needs a significantly larger army. He also advocated conscripting ultra-Orthodox Jews and said that those who do not serve should not receive a single shekel from the state.
Noam Tibon served in the Israel Defense Forces for 35 years in senior command positions and specialized in combat operations and counterterrorism. During the events of October 7, he went to Kibbutz Nahal Oz and rescued its residents, including members of his own family. In addition to security issues, Tibon said B'Yachad plans to address Israel's economy and education.
