Yemeni government forces report advances in Al-Jawf and Marib
Yemeni government forces reported advances east of the city of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf province and the cutting of Houthi supply lines to the eastern fronts. As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, this occurred simultaneously with intensified fighting in the south of Marib province, the southern part of Taiz, and the country’s western coast.
A source at the Yemeni Armed Forces Media Center claims that government units continued advancing east of Al-Hazm toward the outskirts of Bir al-Marazik and cut Houthi supply lines on the city’s eastern fronts. According to the source, the Houthis suffered personnel and equipment losses during the clashes; several of their fighters were detained or neutralized, while several others were wounded.
Operation in southern Marib
The Third Military Region of the Yemeni army launched a large-scale operation on the southern fronts of Marib, targeting Houthi positions and concentrations. Government forces said its purpose was to secure Marib’s southern belt and push the group back from its defensive lines.

A statement by the Third Military Region said the operation began on the morning of September 9 and was ongoing at the time of publication. According to the military, several Houthis were killed, wounded, or captured during the operation, while vehicles and combat equipment were also destroyed. The army and Popular Resistance forces also reported capturing several positions and establishing fire control over the group’s supply routes.
Fighting in Taiz and the Red Sea
Clashes, artillery shelling, and airstrikes against Houthi positions continued on the southeastern fronts of Taiz province in the areas of Al-Mamshat, Al-Ahkum, Ayrim, Al-Kubayta, Al-Rahida, and Karsh. According to a military source, the Houthis were moving reinforcements to several positions, including the Al-Akbush school, the Al-Zubayra market, and the Al-Ahkum intersection.
National Resistance military media on the western coast reported the downing of a Houthi kamikaze drone over Al-Bar, as well as killed and captured commanders linked to a plan for an attack toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Naval forces separately reported repelling an attack by Houthi boats in the Red Sea: after being detected and fired upon, the vessels, according to their claims, retreated north toward the port of Hodeidah.
