In the United States, Time magazine included Senators Katie Britt and Andy Kim, House members Jake Auchincloss and Maxwell Frost, as well as former White House deputy chief of staff James Blair, in this year’s Time100 Next list. Time calls the selection a list of the world’s most influential rising stars, The Hill reports.
Young lawmakers on the list
All four lawmakers featured in Time100 Next were born after 1980. The list includes Republican Senator from Alabama Katie Britt, Democratic Senator from New Jersey Andy Kim, Democrat Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts, and Democrat Maxwell Frost of Florida.
In its profile of 29-year-old Frost, Time mentions his second term in the House of Representatives and his public call to remove the Statue of Liberty in response to President Donald Trump’s immigration policy. Frost’s district includes Orlando, where the Universal Studios theme park is located.

Profiles of Kim and Britt
The article about 43-year-old Kim mentions an incident in May when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers pepper-sprayed him during a gathering of protesters near an immigrant detention center in Newark, New Jersey.
