Tinubu discusses Bolloré investments in Nigeria in Paris — Premium Times Nigeria
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held talks in Paris with French businessman Vincent Bolloré on expanding Bolloré Group investments in Nigeria’s creative and digital economy. The meeting took place during the Nigerian president’s working vacation in France.
As Premium Times Nigeria reports, citing a statement by the Nigerian president’s special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the group confirmed its intention to strengthen the localisation of its operations in the country. The plans cover film, the entertainment industry, fibre-optic infrastructure and related areas.
Bolloré Group plans
Bolloré Group executives outlined a number of new investments focused on Nigeria. According to the presidential administration, they described the country as one of the drivers of Africa’s cultural revival, referring to the international success of Nigeria’s Nollywood film industry, Afrobeats and growing global demand for Nigerian culture.

Vincent Bolloré is a French businessman whose interests include media, entertainment, communications and logistics. Bolloré Group holds stakes in major international media companies, including Canal+ and Universal Music Group.
Connection to Nigeria’s media market
The significance of Bolloré’s ties to Nigeria’s media market increased after Canal+ acquired MultiChoice. In July, Canal+ completed the acquisition of the African pay-TV company, which became a subsidiary of the French media group. MultiChoice operates DStv and GOtv services in Nigeria and other African countries.
Tinubu welcomed the announced localisation plans and said that Nigeria’s cultural influence worldwide creates opportunities to attract production, investment and create jobs. He also stated that the government would support investment in the creative and digital economy, the development of local talent and infrastructure.
