IAEA reports drone strike on Kursk NPP in Russia — Anadolu Agency
At the Kursk nuclear power plant in Russia, a drone struck the cooling tower of a power unit. On September 19, Anadolu Agency reported this, citing the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Operation of the power unit
According to the IAEA, the agency was informed that the strike occurred early Thursday morning while the power unit was operating. The IAEA noted that the unit's operating mode did not change after the incident and that there was no fire.
The agency provided no details about the drone's origin or the circumstances of the incident at the Kursk NPP.

Call for restraint
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that attacks on nuclear facilities are unacceptable because they may threaten nuclear safety and security regardless of where they occur.
He reiterated the call for maximum military restraint to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.
