Trade talks between the US and China set for March 15-16
On March 15-16, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will visit Paris to take part in trade and economic negotiations with a delegation from China, according to a statement from the US Treasury Department.
The talks will also include US Trade Representative Jamison Greer, while the Chinese delegation will be led by Vice Premier of the State Council He Lifeng. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has not yet confirmed this information. Earlier reports indicated that Bessent is considering including on the agenda the possibility of China reducing its purchases of Russian and Iranian oil.
These talks will take place ahead of US President Donald Trump's visit to China scheduled for March 31 to April 2. The negotiations could influence future bilateral relations and trade policy directions.
