Israel carried out airstrikes on Beirut in response to Hezbollah rocket fire
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes on the Dahiya district in the south of the Lebanese capital, which is considered a key stronghold of the terrorist group Hezbollah.
The country’s air force carried out precision airstrikes on targets in the suburbs of Beirut following the resumption of cross-border activity. Official representatives of the Israeli command noted that additional information regarding the extent of the damage and the consequences of the operation will be released later.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement confirming that the recent strikes were directed exclusively against the militants’ command centers and military infrastructure. Military leaders emphasize that this airstrike was a direct response to yet another massive rocket barrage launched by the terrorist group against communities in northern Israel.
