Trump wants to get more details from Putin about aid to Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump plans to ask Russian leader Vladimir Putin further questions regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statements about Russia providing military aid to Iran.
At the same time, Trump stated that he does not currently believe such assistance could have had a significant impact. Ukraine has repeatedly informed the United States about the support Moscow may be providing to Tehran.
Trump responded to Zelenskyy’s statement
A reporter reminded Trump of remarks made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They concerned Russia’s provision of satellite imagery of U.S. bases in the Persian Gulf to Iran, intended to help Iran target those bases.
Trump said he needed to find out if this was true.
“I’ll ask about it (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin—ed.). We’ll find out,” he clarified.
He added that this didn’t have much of an impact, because the U.S. military had completely neutralized everything.
“What would you think if that were the case? You know, they gave Venezuela a lot of equipment, too,” Trump recalled.
He also said that all the equipment in Venezuela was Russian.
“How did that work out? Not very well,” the U.S. president concluded.

The U.S. has postponed a planned large-scale military operation against Iran due to a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems. According to The Wall Street Journal, the shortage of air defense systems was one of the key factors influencing Washington’s decision to suspend potential strikes.
