Trump confirmed the signing of a memorandum with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump officially confirmed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Iran

Speaking to reporters after a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles, Trump stated, “It’s signed,” said the U.S. president.

The White House reported that a photograph of the signed document had been sent to Iran and international mediators so that the agreement could officially take effect.

Subsequently, the U.S. administration released a video of the signing, which, according to official reports, took place at the Palace of Versailles with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and French President Emmanuel Macron in attendance.

“It’s signed,” Trump reiterated during a conversation with reporters.

Various versions of the signing procedure had previously appeared in the media. According to Reuters, the parties may have agreed to part of the terms electronically, and representatives of the U.S. and Iran may have signed the document even before the official ceremony.

Specifically, this referred to the signatures of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian negotiator Mohammad Bakir Kalibaf.

It was later reported that Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also signed the document, though there were discrepancies in the media regarding the form of the signing—whether electronic or on paper.

According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the signing of the agreement effectively canceled a separate ceremony planned in Switzerland. At the same time, negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program are set to continue in Geneva.

The parties are expected to continue discussing the details of implementing the agreements and the mechanisms for monitoring their implementation.

This was reported by Fox News and in a White House post on social media platform X.

The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the recently agreed-upon memorandum of understanding with Iran is not a final document, and the U.S. side may resume bombing if the terms of the final agreement do not satisfy it

The U.S. and Iran will establish a $300 billion fund to rebuild the economy, according to Reuters.

The U.S. has postponed the release of the text of the agreements with Iran.
