Trump broke protocol during his meeting with King Charles
During King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s official visit to the United States, a state dinner was held with President Donald Trump in attendance.
During his speech, the American president touched on the topic of war in Iran, which reportedly did not conform to the diplomatic protocol of the event. Following the incident, Buckingham Palace responded to the situation regarding Trump’s remarks during the official banquet.
This was reported with reference to the Mirror.
During the state dinner, Donald Trump violated the rules of etiquette and protocol by mentioning politics in his speech. In particular, he commented on King Charles’s position regarding the war in Iran.
Trump stated that King Charles supports his position on Iran’s nuclear weapons. “We have militarily defeated this particular adversary, and we will never allow this adversary—Charles agrees with me even more than I do—we will never allow this adversary to have nuclear weapons,” the U.S. president said.

There is speculation online that Trump’s remarks were intended to undermine the political neutrality of the British Crown. Buckingham Palace did not ignore the politician’s statement.
“He deviated from the script. I was surprised that he said that… It was very unfortunate to put the King in such a situation. The King, of course, is aware of his government’s longstanding and well-known position on preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons,” commented a palace spokesperson.
