Trump Threatened the Houthis with a Military Response Over Attacks in the Red Sea

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States will use military force if the Yemeni Houthis continue their attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

According to him, Washington will hold Iran responsible for such actions.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump noted that the U.S. had already carried out strikes against the Houthis in response to their attacks on commercial shipping. He noted that after that, the group did not carry out such attacks for some time, but has now resumed them.

The U.S. president emphasized that the Houthis are Iran’s “puppets” or proxies, so in the event of new attacks, the U.S. will take “serious military measures” against both the Houthis themselves and Tehran.

Earlier, the Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack on Saudi tankers in the Red Sea. According to CNN, NASA satellite images show a fire on board one of the ships.

Iran has once again denied the existence of a secret nuclear facility on Mount Kolang.

The U.S. attacked a commercial tanker bound for Iran for the first time.

As a reminder, starting on July 15 and continuing into the night of July 16, the U.S. carried out two waves of strikes on Iranian territory. The targets of the attacks included a number of military facilities in Tehran, as well as a tanker heading for Iranian ports.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran had released an American woman whom, according to him, they had been illegally detaining since December 2024.
