Trump criticized a judge for halting construction of a ballroom at the White House
U.S. President Donald Trump harshly criticized the federal judge who halted construction of the White House ballroom. He called the decision politically motivated and claimed the judge had overstepped his authority.
The US president wrote about this on Truth Social.
Trump claims that the new facility is a “great gift to America” and is intended to ensure the safe hosting of large-scale events for presidents and international leaders.
According to Trump, the project includes enhanced security measures, specifically:
- bomb shelters;
- state-of-the-art medical facilities;
- protective barriers;
- classified military facilities and equipment;
- bulletproof and blast-resistant glass;
- drone protection;
- a reinforced military-grade ventilation system.
Trump stated that without this hall, future presidents would allegedly be unable to guarantee security during official events, inaugurations, and summits. He also emphasized that the project is allegedly within budget and even ahead of schedule, and that a significant portion of the materials has already been purchased.
Separately, the president accused the judge of “political interference” and undermining national security, calling the decision an “overreach” and an “abuse of the judicial system.”
