Trump dismisses report on satellite images for Iran
US President Donald Trump on Sunday aboard Air Force One dismissed a report that Iran had allegedly received satellite images of a US base in Jordan from Chinese entities before a July attack that killed three US service members. The Jerusalem Post reports.
Trump's reaction
Reporters asked Trump whether he would raise the issue at an expected meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The US president did not answer directly, instead comparing the intelligence activities of China and the United States.
“They basically do the same thing we do. When they say China is spying on us, I say: you are right, and we are spying on them too,” Trump said.

The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed US officials, reported that Iran received satellite imagery from Chinese entities. According to the publication, the officials did not identify those entities and did not claim that Beijing was directly involved in providing the images. Reuters was unable to immediately independently verify the information.
Trump also reiterated that he considers his relationship with Xi Jinping to be good. He said this while returning to the United States after a trip to Ireland. A meeting between the US and Chinese presidents is expected in the United States on September 24, but China has not yet officially confirmed it.
