Trump answered how long Ukraine would have lasted without U.S. aid

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine would not be able to hold out in the war against Russia without American weapons and military equipment. According to him, Washington’s support plays a key role in Kyiv’s ability to continue its resistance.

The U.S. president reiterated that Ukraine has received “a huge amount of money,” and without the equipment and weapons provided by the U.S., the country “would not have been able to hold out for even a day or two.”

“Without our weapons and our equipment, Ukraine would not have survived to fight today. You know, I mean, when it comes to this issue, we’ve provided them with hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of equipment—and the best equipment. And we make the best equipment in the world, but without it, they wouldn’t have lasted even a day or two,” the White House chief said.

He recalled the transfer of anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, likely referring to the Javelin systems, which were sold to Kyiv during Trump’s first term.

“Remember the anti-tank missiles? You remember that, right? When the tanks got stuck in the mud. And then they went around them and boom, boom, boom, boom… I said that Obama gave them bedsheets, and Trump gave them anti-tank missiles—one of the most destructive types of weapons,” the U.S. president said.
