Trump says in Ireland that some AI concerns will not come true
US President Donald Trump, speaking to journalists at his golf course in Ireland, said that “very negative forces” are raising concerns about artificial intelligence that, in his view, will not come true. He also stressed that he wants to preserve the United States’ leadership in AI.
Trump’s position on regulation
Answering a question about whether the development of the artificial intelligence industry should be slowed or its regulation strengthened, Trump said that the United States is ahead of China in this field. According to him, winning in AI is of decisive importance.
Trump said that certain safeguards can be put in place for technologies, but expressed confidence that some of the concerns relate to events that will not happen. This was reported by Cyprus Mail, citing Reuters.

Warnings from Anthropic researchers
Trump’s comments came after two researchers at Anthropic warned that the rapid development of artificial intelligence could lead to humanity’s extinction in the near future.
Trump’s administration during his second term has generally supported companies in the AI sector, while leaders of the industry and other technology companies have supported its initiatives. At the same time, the Pentagon earlier this year warned about risks associated with Anthropic’s model.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei presented a three-stage framework intended to slow the pace of model development and allow more time for managing risks. One of Anthropic’s researchers, Jacob Koxon, who left the company and later made the warnings public, called on the United States to coordinate with other countries to avoid dangerous competition with China in AI development.
