IDF says 170 people killed in Gaza had ties to Hamas — Jerusalem Post
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that 170 people killed in strikes in the Gaza Strip and presented as civilian journalists had ties to Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other groups. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
IDF statement
According to the Israeli military, some of these people worked for Reuters, the Turkish state agency Anadolu and Palestine Now News Agency. The IDF claims that, among other things, they served as snipers, commanders and instructors, and engaged in propaganda.

What the claim is based on
The IDF said the identities of these people and their possible ties to the groups were established based on documents released by the groups themselves, as well as materials seized by the Israeli military during operations in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military also claims that some of those described as journalists infiltrated Israel and took part in the Hamas attack on October 7. The Jerusalem Post article provides no independent confirmation of these claims.
