Türkiye rejects Prime Minister Netanyahu's remarks against Erdoğan — Anadolu Agency

Türkiye criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech from the podium of the UN General Assembly, in which he made remarks about President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Türkiye's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran called the accusations baseless and said they do not correspond to the ideals of peace, law and dialogue represented by the UN.

Statement by the Turkish official

According to Anadolu Agency, Duran published a statement on the Turkish social platform NSosyal. He mentioned an arrest warrant for Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court in connection with alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.

According to Duran, Netanyahu's remarks about Erdoğan cannot make, as he put it, the mass killings, the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and proceedings under international law go unnoticed. The Turkish official also said that the international community sees this situation and that Netanyahu has become more isolated than ever.

Ankara's position

Duran said that Türkiye, under Erdoğan's leadership, would continue to defend the rights of the oppressed, including Palestinians. According to him, the country would also advocate for a fairer world and peace and oppose injustice and oppression.
