550 students in farming communities in Ghana receive school supplies — MyJoyOnline
In the Kintampo South District of Ghana, 550 students from two farming communities received school supplies as part of an education campaign. As MyJoyOnline reports, the event was conducted by the SeedSpark Foundation in partnership with Legacy Impact through the Legacy Career Institute and the OhenebaCare Foundation.
Support for students and schools
The initiative took place on September 21, 2026, in the communities of Anokyekrom and Abom Komkomba. Supplies were provided to 250 students in Anokyekrom and 300 students in Abom Komkomba, from kindergarten through junior high school.
The children received exercise books, textbooks, pens, pencils, rulers, school bags, clothing, and footballs. The schools also received textbooks and teaching materials for teachers. A teacher at Abom Komkomba D/A School said the textbooks would help both teachers and students, as some children regularly come to school without exercise books.

SeedSpark Foundation Executive Director Henry Ekow Yawson said the organization focuses on farming communities where children may have fewer educational resources. According to him, the foundation intends to continue returning to such communities.
Health services for residents
During the event, a team of 18 people, including staff from Kintampo South Hospital, the OhenebaCare Foundation, and the National Health Insurance Scheme, conducted free screenings for about 160 residents.
Representatives of the health insurance scheme also informed residents about access to its services and assisted farmers who needed registration or renewal. The organizers plan to expand the campaign to other communities and conduct follow-up visits to identify needs revealed during the education and health activities.
