A mobile drone countermeasures system was deployed at Leipzig International Airport following an incident involving a drone carrying explosives.
According to German media reports, the Federal Police spent the day installing specialized equipment, and airport security was handed over to a unit equipped with modern drone detection systems, electronic countermeasures, physical interception capabilities, and special interceptor drones.
The German Ministry of the Interior noted that details regarding the equipment and tactics used are not being disclosed for security reasons.
At the same time, law enforcement officials are continuing their search for a second suspected drone, which, according to eyewitnesses, was also flying over the airport on the day of the incident.
After the first drone carrying explosives was detected, operations on the runway were temporarily suspended. In addition, a DHL aircraft collided with an unidentified object at an altitude of over 600 meters during a second landing attempt.

As a reminder, a drone carrying an explosive device was discovered at Leipzig/Halle International Airport near a Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane. Due to the incident, airport operations were temporarily suspended for several hours.
The Green Party faction in the Bundestag called for a meeting of the German National Security Council in response to the incident involving a drone equipped with explosives at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Politicians view the incident as a serious threat to national security.
The Ukrainian An-124 cargo plane operated by Antonov Airlines, near which a drone carrying explosives was discovered at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany, was loaded with military ammunition from France for onward transport.
