In Belo Horizonte, the coffee school and café has reopened in a space three times larger than before
On August 18, 2026, the Academia do Café café and coffee school reopened in a new location in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte. The establishment moved to Rua Grão Pará, 1010, in the Funcionários neighborhood, on the same street where it was previously located. The new building is three times larger than the previous one, according to The Rio Times.
In its new space, Academia do Café combines a coffee shop, a coffee school, a roastery, and a tasting room. The establishment also features a separate counter for coffee preparation—the school’s curriculum is dedicated to this area.
The café is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Espresso starts at 9.50 Brazilian reais. An Italian cappuccino costs 15 reais, a shakerato costs 18 reais, the café’s mocha costs 26 reais, and a drink with orange and strawberry costs 28 reais.

For example, toast made with naturally leavened bread, topped with mushrooms and spices, costs 28 reais, while toast with roasted peppers or creamy chicken costs 32 reais each. The menu also features a hot cheese sandwich on brioche for 28 reais, a ham-and-cheese roll, and a corn broa—all for 16 reais each.
Desserts include a chocolate and cashew brownie for 18 reais, a cheese and guava tart for 24 reais, and cream-filled donuts for 10 reais. The establishment also serves brewed coffee.
