The Office of the President of Poland ruled out the possibility of Navrotsky shaking hands with Putin at the G20 summit
The Office of the President of Poland stated that it is not aware of any interaction between President Karol Nawrotsky and Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit in Miami. Official Warsaw expressed dissatisfaction with the Russian dictator’s invitation to the event and emphasized the need for his international isolation.
This was stated by Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish President’s Office for International Policy. According to him, any contact with the Kremlin leader poses a threat, including a physical one, and Nawrocki himself is on the Russian regime’s wanted list. In this regard, the Presidential Palace will do everything possible to prevent any attempts at a handshake or contact between the leaders.
“We will respond if it becomes clear that Putin intends to come there; we will consult with our allies. We do not approve of the invitation to Vladimir Putin because he is a criminal who should be brought to justice, not invited,” said Pszydach.
The G20 summit will take place on December 14–15 in Miami, chaired by Donald Trump, where Poland is participating as an invited guest. Polish officials noted that if Putin actually attends, Warsaw will consult with its allies on next steps, although the mere fact that an invitation has been sent does not yet guarantee his presence at the event.
