The White House has confirmed that Zelenskyy and Trump will meet next week — Reuters

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday, July 28. The White House has officially confirmed the upcoming talks.

A White House spokesperson confirmed this information to Reuters.

At the same time, a Ukrainian source reported that Zelenskyy is interested in traveling to the United States, but his team is awaiting official confirmation of Trump’s schedule from the White House.

According to the source, Ukrainian and American officials discussed a proposal to cease hostilities in the air, which they plan to present to the Russian side as part of a new round of peace initiatives aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.

The publication noted that Ukraine had previously approached Russian dictator Vladimir Putin with proposals for a ceasefire, but they were rejected.

At the same time, some officials believe that pressure on the Russian economy from Ukrainian drone and missile strikes could soften Putin’s stance.

Recently, Zelenskyy held talks with U.S. Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner regarding the prospects for resuming peace talks with Russia. Following that, he stated that Ukrainian and American officials could meet in the U.S. in the coming days.

As a reminder, Ukraine plans to receive drones capable of flying 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers as early as next year. At the same time, Kyiv is preparing a large-scale agreement with the United States on the joint production of drones.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that next week he plans to appoint Ihor Klymenko as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, while Rustem Umerov will focus on working with international partners in the field of security.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented for the first time on the statements made by his former press secretary, Yulia Mendel, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
