Brussels to screen film about Netanyahu ahead of Israeli elections — Jerusalem Post
In Brussels, Belgium, a screening of the documentary film The Bibi Files about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled for September 29 at the European Parliament building. The screening will take place four weeks before the Knesset elections in Israel, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Screening and discussion
According to the invitation, the screening will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a discussion featuring the film’s director Alexis Bloom and Italian journalist Giulia Innocenzi, who is involved in distributing the film in Italy.
The event was initiated by M5S Europa, the European Parliament delegation of Italy’s Five Star Movement. The event is not an official European Parliament event and does not represent the position of either the Parliament or the European Union. Participation is subject to seat availability, and prior registration does not guarantee entry to the hall.
Interrogation recordings
The Bibi Files, released in 2024, is partly based on video recordings of police interrogations of Netanyahu conducted as part of investigations into his cases in 2016–2018. The film was directed by Bloom, while its producers include Alex Gibney and Israeli journalist Raviv Drucker. Filming for the documentary was carried out by Avner Shahaf.

According to the film’s creators, in 2023 Gibney received via the Signal app a database containing more than a thousand hours of interrogation footage from an anonymous source. The identity of the source was not disclosed. The recordings include interrogations of Netanyahu, his wife Sara, his son Yair, and other people questioned in these cases.
The film shows Netanyahu answering questions, including about receiving gifts from businessmen, such as cigars and champagne, as well as about his ties to wealthy individuals and media organizations. The film also includes interviews with former aide and state witness Nir Hefetz, former Shin Bet chief Ami Ayalon, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and others.
The film’s creators critically interpret Netanyahu’s years in power and link his legal and political struggle to Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000, political alliances, judicial reform, and the actions of governments during the war. At the same time, these assessments represent the position of the film’s creators rather than established conclusions in ongoing court proceedings. Netanyahu denies the accusations and calls the cases political persecution and selective enforcement of the law.
