In the Czech Republic, 240 people were evacuated from a hospital due to a bomb threat
In the Czech city of Kadaň on Tuesday, approximately 240 people were evacuated from a local hospital following an anonymous bomb threat. Among them were newborns and staff from the pediatric ward.
The report of a possible bomb was received by the hospital in the morning. The children, along with hospital staff, were transferred to the nearest emergency care facility. Some adult patients remained in the building under the supervision of necessary staff.
A police dog handler, rescue workers, and a psychologist arrived at the scene. Firefighters also set up evacuation tents in front of the hospital.
Law enforcement officers searched the hospital premises several times but did not find any explosive device. At around 9:40 a.m. local time, those who had been evacuated were able to return to the hospital.
Police are working to identify the person who reported the bomb threat. The case is being investigated on suspicion of spreading false information.
