Search for witnesses announced in London after alleged attack on Jewish schoolboy
Public organizations and social media users have launched a search for witnesses following reports of an alleged attack on a Jewish schoolboy near Belsize Park station in London, United Kingdom. As The Jerusalem Post reports, according to messages circulated online, the boy was beaten last Friday while returning home from Hasmonean Boys Middle School.
Appeal to witnesses
Messages circulating online state that a group of boys depicted in photographs may have been involved in the attack. Some posts also included claims that police were allegedly appealing to the public for information.
Campaign Against Antisemitism urged eyewitnesses and those with information about the incident to pass it on through community channels. Hertfordshire Friends of Israel shared a message asking people to send private messages if they recognize the individuals in the photos or have information. The organization also advised people not to approach individuals who may be considered involved.

Police position
At the same time, the Metropolitan Police said it had no record of a report concerning an incident of this nature on the specified date and at the specified location. Its representative said that any appeal for information did not originate from the department.
British Transport Police also said it found no records in its logs of an attack near Belsize Park since the beginning of the previous week. It added that it had not issued an official appeal in connection with the incident.
