Man killed, woman seriously injured in crash near Rehasim, Israel
A man aged about 30 was killed in a collision between two cars on Route 762 near Rehasim in Israel. A woman aged about 40 sustained serious injuries, reports The Jerusalem Post.
Assistance to the victims
Paramedic teams from the Magen David Adom emergency medical service pronounced the man dead at the scene of the crash. The woman was provided medical assistance and then taken to the Rambam medical complex in Haifa. She sustained injuries to her abdomen and lower limbs.
According to Magen David Adom emergency medical technician Avi Boyar, the woman was trapped inside one of the cars. He said that the man in the second car had sustained extremely severe injuries and showed no signs of life.

The car was torn in two
Firefighters also arrived at the scene. They found a car split into two parts; one of them had rolled into a ditch about four meters deep.
This crash occurred amid a series of serious road accidents in Israel in recent days. Earlier in September, two people were killed and another six were injured in separate road accidents over a single weekend. Separately, a man aged about 40 was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 553 near the moshav of Porat. A woman aged about 30 who was driving the car was detained after leaving the scene of the crash.
Also, last Friday, a 48-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Route 7 near the Sorek interchange. In Jerusalem's Pisgat Ze'ev neighborhood, a car struck a boy aged about four, who was taken to hospital in critical condition.
