Aishat Baimuradova, a Chechen woman whose body had been kept in a morgue for five months, was buried in Yerevan
Aishat Baimuradova, a Chechen woman who was killed in Armenia in October 2025, was buried at the Nubarashen Cemetery in Yerevan. The Armenian authorities organized the funeral.
About 40 people attended the funeral, including acquaintances of the deceased, activists, and journalists.
Baimuradova’s grave is located in a separate section of the cemetery where people are buried without headstones. The woman’s body had been in the morgue for over five months.

Under Armenian law, the body could only be released for burial to relatives, but they did not respond to inquiries. As a result, the country’s authorities decided to fund the funeral themselves.
Earlier reports indicated that 33-year-old Aliya Ozdamirova, who was forcibly takenfrom Georgia to Chechnya, had been killed. It is known that the woman fled to Georgia due to persecution by brothers close to Ramzan Kadyrov. They had learned that she was a lesbian. Additionally, her relatives accused her of stealing money from business partners, a charge she denied.
