Man sentenced to 10 years in prison in Finland for murder in Turku
In Finland, the Southwest Finland court sentenced a 43-year-old resident of Turku to 10 years in prison for murder and abuse of a deceased person’s body. The court also ordered him to pay the victim’s parents approximately €20,000 in compensation.
Argument in an apartment
According to YLE News, in February, the man killed a 44-year-old man in his apartment in the Varissuo district of Turku. According to the court, this happened after an argument, and the murder weapon was a heavy hammer.
The court concluded that the murder was not premeditated. According to the court ruling, the man acted impulsively under the influence of anger.

Body found during a search
After the murder, the convicted man kept the victim’s body on the balcony for more than two months, wrapped in a garbage bag. Police found the body during a search of the apartment.
