Woman in Finland sentenced for sexual offense against a child
The North Savo District Court in Kuopio, Finland, sentenced a woman born in 1984 to 10 months of conditional imprisonment for a sexual offense against a child. At the time of the events, the child was between 13 and 14 years old.
Correspondence on Snapchat
According to YLE News, the offense took place on social media. According to the public summary of the court decision, the woman sent the child sexually explicit material through the Snapchat app and offered sex.
The court also stated that the child sent the convicted woman personal semi-nude photographs. Among other things, the woman sent the child an image of her bare breasts.

Compensation for the child
In addition to the conditional imprisonment, the court ordered the woman to pay the child €2,000 in compensation for suffering. The public summary of the decision does not state when exactly the offenses occurred or whether the woman knew the child before the correspondence began.
The verdict has not yet entered into force. It can be appealed to the Court of Appeal.
