Police officer detained in France on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack — France 24
A 35-year-old police officer suspected of preparing a terrorist attack has been detained in France. A source close to the case told AFP that the man was arrested in the street on August 23. He has been held in custody since then pending trial.
Suspicions in the case
As France 24 reports, citing AFP, sources said that the law enforcement officer adhered to a violent radical far-right ideology. A judicial source confirmed the TF1/LCI channel's report about the arrest and said that the man is also suspected of manufacturing weapons.

According to TF1/LCI, the police officer may have planned violent attacks against state interests and manufactured weapons using 3D printing. The charges brought against him include preparing a terrorist attack, illegal manufacture or trafficking of weapons in connection with a terrorist organization, as well as illegal possession of weapons.
Other charges
The law enforcement officer is also charged with incitement to terrorism through social media. As of Thursday evening, his lawyers had not responded to AFP's requests regarding the case.
