In Ghana, 293 recruits complete basic Air Force training — MyJoyOnline
In Takoradi, Ghana, 293 Air Force recruits completed 26 weeks of basic military training at the Recruit Training School at Takoradi Air Base. The graduation parade took place on Friday, September 25, after the recruits took the Ghana Armed Forces oath, MyJoyOnline reports.
The start of service in the Air Force
Richard Danso, Commander of the Ghana Air Force Training Command, who reviewed the parade, described the ceremony as an important event for the new servicemen and servicewomen. According to him, the intensive training was intended to develop team spirit, cooperation skills, psychological resilience, endurance, confidence and physical stamina.
Danso stressed that the training is only the foundation of a military career and that the real test will begin after the recruits arrive at their duty stations. He urged the graduates to perform their duties conscientiously and adhere to discipline, devotion to the country and service, as well as the principle of selfless service to the state.

Honoring the best
During the ceremony, the recruits demonstrated drill training, while the best participants in the course received awards. Yeboa Samuel Amofu was recognized as the best in drill training, Arthur Michael in tactics, and Tonie Sabiena in weapons training.
Dauda Idrisu and Salisu Yunis were named the best in physical training among men and women, respectively. Ampadu Christabel Asantewaa received the award for academic achievement and the Air Force Chief of Staff’s top award for the best recruit. They were presented with plaques and other prizes provided by Services Integrity Savings and Loans.
